Descripción general / Responsabilidades

Amec Foster Wheeler will potentially be awarded a large PMC Refinery project in Oman which is expected to run for around 3 years. If the project is awarded we are expected to start mobilizing successful candidates by Q2 2018. We do not yet know the confirmed EPC locations, but they are likely to be in Western Europe and the United Arab Emirates. Once work at the EPC locations has been completed, employees will be transferred to the Oman site to work on a residential status assignment.

Please note this position will be hired on a single status basis.


  • Plan, monitor, and report progress for engineering activities undertaken including obtaining resources from home office as required
  • Ensure client requirements for applicable work package are incorporated into the process design by the EPC contractor
  • Review and approve process engineering technical deliverables produced by EPC contractor for applicable work package in line with PMC Technical Assurance Plan
  • Manage direct line reports on day to day basis
  • Provide PMC / PMT input at EPC contractor led technical and safety design review meetings
  • Liaise and interface with other engineering discipline leads and project functions
  • Ensure adherence to project scope criteria as defined in project management plan (including budget / schedule), and bringing to project management attention any project activities impacting upon these
  • Execute the Technical Assurance plan. Ensure technical assurance of the design
  • Report of any irregularities
  • Handle milestone delivery follow-ups
  • Participate in HAZOP review
  • Maintain the communication channels with the EPC discipline engineer

Habilidades / Cualificación

  • Bachelor degree in Instrumentation or Electrical
  • Minimum of 10 years industrial experience
  • 5 years’ experience in similar position
  • Track record (past 8 years): Experience in PMC / EPC organizations in the field of refinery / petrochemical industries and must have managed process engineering work of major projects of value not less than USD 500million each
  • Desirable: Strong technical background
  • Mentoring and coaching ability
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, particularly the ability to communicate in a multidiscipline context
  • Significant previous experience in a similar role
  • High degree of competency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
  • Committed to be part of a long-term project (3 years)
  • Aspire to excellence, self-starter and motivated individual
  • Ability to perform under minimal supervision
  • Excellent understanding of instrumentation and automation packages
  • Good knowledge of the major vendors in the field of instrumentation, automation and electrical
  • Holding a valid permit to live and work in Spain is required.
